Short company presentation
Appaloosa Ltd is the successor of Appaloosa Design Studio, founded in 1991, and is still a 100% Hungarian owned company. The company was owned by private individuals (currently a private individual) who built and expanded the company from the beginning, as a result of which year by year, due to investments in various fields, developments, sales structure development, the company has grown in terms of both scope of activity, turnover and staff.
The recent expansion of the company in various new areas has been particularly efficient and effective from 2003 onwards in major event management and its execution with the international development and execution of the Red Bull Air Race, and later on the expansion of the already well-established event management into a full-service advertising agency. (Ferrero Mo. FCA Group, SINOSZ, etc.) Subsequently, we built and equipped a plant with our own resources to exploit the capacity of our development and construction work in vehicle construction, rebuilding MINI and MIDI buses for Mercedes and Fiat. We have sold vehicles for many years as a qualified supplier to Mercedes and Fiat Hungary. In addition to this background, we started independent developments and later carried out several R&D projects both as subcontractors and as independent projects.
In 2020, we launched the Insphaera, a simulator capable of realising continuous G-forces for human balance and simulating different vehicles in a safe and cost-effective way, which is currently unique in the world. The worldwide COVID-19 virus caused difficulties or a complete backlog in one of the major sectors of our business (32.4% of revenue in the second half of 2019) (event management), which we have tried to offset by a much more serious involvement of the engineering developments previously present in our business, in day-to-day operations.
From 2021, we have built an ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat clinic, also dedicated to research on the human vestibular system, which will also provide day-to-day healthcare services under the name Leopard Clinic. Dr. Miklós Tóth is the chief physician of the clinic, who, among other things, was involved in the construction of the prototype of the Insphaera simulator, but is also currently the head of the Appaloosa Ltd. R&D activities. As one of the designers of the CVSA (Complex Vestibular System Analizer) equipment and as the inventor of this diagnostic equipment, he is an indispensable expert in the research that has been going on for 3 years. With the developments that will take place, we will be able to modernise two very important segments of the market and realise a number of additional economic and employment benefits related to the development from 2023 onwards. The cornerstone of this is Motion System World Ltd, founded in 2022 as the key to the exploitation of the Insphaera simulator. In MSW we have managed to make the manufacturing structure and state-of-the-art execution capacity necessary for Appaloosa Ltd’s innovations an active partner.
Introducing the experts, leading researchers and developers:
Designer and pilot Péter Balog, the inventor of the simulator development, launched the project with the company he runs and with grant funding, following the development of the Red Bull Air Race. Using his almost a decade of Red Bull experience, with electrical engineer Barnabás Balog as chief designer, they managed to realise the Insphaera, including preliminary design, with the coordination of the right engineering team, in about 8 years. During this time, 4 further R&D projects were realised with the support of grant funding. In the environment created by the successful completion and closure, they are currently working on the technical realisation of a new medical diagnostic device (CVSA) in a collaborative research environment. These systems are now also closely involved in the development of the Insphaera background. The CVSA is a major professional advancement in inner ear diagnostics, which is based on the precise knowledge of the Human Vestibular System and the decades of research of Dr. Miklós Tóth in this field, as is the case in the Insphaera project.
